Individual bicycle fenders in a product configurator for Pletscher AG

Challenge

Differently built bicycles also have different requirements for their fenders. Due to the large number of bicycle models available, it is not possible to sell fenders without configuration. The radius of the wheel, the width and length of the fender and options for attachments make each fender unique. In order to enabled customers to easily order fenders, despite their many options, it was necessary to develop a user-friendly product configurator.

Solution

Using Figma (prototyping tool), we developed a click dummy in several iterations and agreed on this deisgn with the customer. This enabled us to quickly determine the large number of configurable options and develop a mutual vision for the product configurator. Within two months, we were then able to fully implement the product configurator and deploy it online for Pletscher's customers.

Result

Today, the fender configurator is used by dealers and private customers to send order requests to Pletscher. The configurator can be easily used on any device through Pletscher's website. Pletscher now benefits from requests via the configurator and can thus create suitable offers and price suggestions without a great deal of effort in specifying the right fender.
